Paris-based cybersecurity startup Sekoia.io has raised €26 million in Series B funding to strengthen its AI-powered threat detection capabilities and scale its international presence. The funding round was led by Revaia, with backing from UNEXO and continued support from Bright Pixel Capital, Omnes Capital, and Bpifrance. This latest raise brings Sekoia.io’s total funding to €60 million.
As the demand for advanced cybersecurity solutions grows, driven by stricter regulations like the EU’s NIS2 directive and increasingly complex cyber threats, Sekoia.io is stepping up to meet the challenge. The company is betting big on artificial intelligence and automation to help businesses stay protected and bridge the widening cybersecurity talent gap.
Sekoia.io’s CEO and founder Freddy Milesi shared that the new funding will be used to enhance the platform’s AI capabilities—particularly its agent-based AI—and to expand operations beyond Europe. “Our technology already automatically detects 25% of the 4 million real threats identified in 2024. This is just the beginning. We’re accelerating global expansion through hundreds of MSSP partnerships to bring powerful cybersecurity solutions to more companies,” said Milesi.
Taking a Unique Route in the Fast-Growing MSSP Market
With the Managed Security Services Provider (MSSP) market expected to hit $52.9 billion by 2028, Sekoia.io has crafted a strategy that stands out. Instead of focusing solely on direct sales, the company leverages an indirect distribution model, allowing it to scale rapidly by empowering MSSPs with its flexible, plug-and-play security platform.
This approach has helped the startup reach a broader range of clients—from small and mid-sized businesses to major corporations—without sacrificing quality or performance. By arming MSSPs with powerful, easy-to-deploy tools, Sekoia.io is helping democratize access to top-tier cybersecurity.
From Consulting Roots to AI-Driven Cyber Defense
Sekoia.io was co-founded in 2022 by Freddy Milesi and Thérèse Favet, who previously spent over 15 years in the cybersecurity space. Originally launched as a consulting firm in 2008, the company shifted focus to product development after recognizing a clear market need: real-time threat detection tools that could keep up with evolving attack tactics.
Their flagship product, the Sekoia AI-SOC platform, is built to simplify and automate cyber defense. It helps organizations detect, respond to, and understand threats faster by combining real-time analytics, automation, and contextual intelligence. The platform is especially valuable in a market where cybersecurity expertise is in short supply.
AI at the Heart of Sekoia.io’s Cybersecurity Strategy
At its core, Sekoia.io is reimagining how security teams operate. The AI-SOC platform gives teams a unified view of their systems while using exclusive Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) data to spot and stop advanced threats—including those from cybercriminal syndicates and state-backed hackers.
What sets Sekoia.io apart is its use of agent-based AI that adapts to each organization’s unique environment. This intelligent approach helps security teams respond to incidents faster and more effectively. Rather than replacing analysts, Sekoia’s AI tools support and guide them, enhancing productivity in a talent-scarce field.
The platform also offers flexibility, integrating seamlessly with more than 200 third-party security tools. Whether companies are upgrading their SIEM systems or building fresh infrastructure, Sekoia.io ensures they get more value from existing investments.
Scaling Across Europe and Beyond
Currently active in four European countries, Sekoia.io employs over 100 professionals and collaborates with around 50 MSSPs. Its client base includes major players such as EDF, Vinci, SNCF, Mirakl, Marlink, and France’s Ministry of Armed Forces. This reach reflects the trust major institutions place in its cutting-edge technology.
The company now aims to lead the AI-native security platform market for managed SOCs—a sector poised for significant growth as businesses increasingly turn to AI for proactive cybersecurity.
Backing this ambition, Revaia’s Principal Hadrien Comte praised Sekoia.io’s scalable and inclusive model. “Cybersecurity is a critical issue for businesses of all sizes. Sekoia.io offers a smart, scalable solution by making advanced protection accessible to SMEs. We’re thrilled to help them become a European cybersecurity leader,” he said.
