What if you could invest like your favorite finance creator—automatically? That’s the promise behind Dub, a new fintech startup that just raised $30 million in Series A funding to make influencer-led investing mainstream.
Dub launched in 2024 with a clear mission: help everyday users copy the real-time trades of top finance influencers and investors. Instead of relying on complicated charts or dense financial reports, users can now follow creators they trust—and automatically copy their trades through a simple app.
CEO and founder Steven Wang said the idea came from watching how Gen Z and Millennials are investing today. According to him, many younger investors are influenced more by social media than by traditional advisors. “We’re just building what people already do,” Wang explained.
A Social Trading App for the Creator Economy
Dub runs on a $9.99/month subscription, allowing users to access portfolios from creators and professional investors. Unlike older platforms such as eToro or AvaTrade, Dub doesn’t need a third-party brokerage. Instead, it’s built around its own SEC-registered brokerage, where users can directly fund and manage their investments.
What really sets Dub apart is its creator program. Anyone can join the platform, but to start earning money, creators must meet certain performance metrics. Once approved, they earn royalties based on how well their portfolio performs and how many people copy it.
To qualify, creators must open a brokerage account through Dub and build a visible portfolio. When users choose to copy their trades, the app automatically mirrors future trades in real time. As a result, both sides benefit—creators get paid, and followers get hands-free investing.
Dub also plans to launch a free tier later this year. That version will allow basic access, though premium portfolios will remain behind a paywall.
As Wang puts it, “You can either be the copier, choosing to pay $10 to follow someone’s portfolio, or you can be the creator people follow.”
With new funding from Notable Capital and other investors, Dub will scale its operations, enhance product features, and expand its creator community. The goal is clear: turn social media’s investing buzz into actual investment outcomes.
