Epicore Biosystems has secured an additional $6 million in Series B funding to fuel the global expansion of its cutting-edge sweat-sensing wearables. This latest investment lifts its total Series B round to $32 million, with fresh support from a new San Francisco-based investor and several angel investors. Existing backers like Alumni Ventures and Joyance Partners also joined the round again.

The boost follows an earlier $26 million tranche led by the Steele Foundation for Hope. With this new capital, Epicore is doubling down on innovation and scaling its advanced hydration-tracking tech for industrial and sports applications around the world.

Sweat-Tracking Tech Designed for Performance and Safety

Epicore’s wearables are built to monitor hydration and fatigue using real-time sweat data. These smart devices track key biomarkers, including fluid loss, skin temperature, and thermal output—helping users detect early signs of exhaustion and manage recovery proactively.

At the heart of its product lineup is Connected Hydration, a first-of-its-kind wearable that collects hydration metrics and provides haptic alerts. This feedback guides users to drink when their body needs it, boosting both physical performance and cognitive recovery. It’s already been deployed in demanding environments—from factory floors to football fields—and even featured at the 2025 Super Bowl. A study published in Nature Digital Medicine further validated its real-world benefits.

According to CEO and co-founder Dr. Roozbeh Ghaffari, Connected Hydration offers a new way to manage personal well-being. “By capturing critical biomarkers in real time and delivering instant feedback, we help workers and athletes stay safe, sharp, and recovered. We’re excited to work with investors who understand the power of this data.”

Broad Industry Demand and Global Reach

Epicore’s growing product suite addresses a wide variety of use cases. In addition to Connected Hydration, it offers the Gx Sweat Patch®—developed with PepsiCo and Gatorade for athletes—and the Discovery Patch®, a Class I FDA-registered clinical sweat collection system.

These devices serve both real-time monitoring and research needs. From sports science to industrial safety, Epicore’s wearables are built for high-impact use.

The new funding will help Epicore expand operations across Australia, Asia, and the Middle East. The company also plans to upgrade its cloud-based analytics engine, making hydration advice even more precise. It’s also researching new sweat biomarkers with potential in kidney health, stress monitoring, and beyond.

With strong demand from enterprise and military clients, Epicore has already partnered with Chevron, PepsiCo, United Airlines, Bechtel, Denka, and multiple U.S. defense branches, including the Air Force and Navy. Its solutions are actively used in sectors like energy, shipping, aviation, and construction.
